FIrst impression. The gym itself has a very welcoming vibe, when i walked in there were several parents sitting, watching their kids learn Jiu Jitsu. I noticed that Professor Marcel is great with kids along side Daniel who is an assistant coach and has kids enrolled there as well!

They keep the facility impeccabley clean! I can’t believe it’s such a small gym. but that often makes for better, more detailed instuction with smaller classes and let me tell you after two weeks here, i think its better than 2 months at some other gyms I’ve been to!

What i really like about the class itself, is the warm up drills and the laid back instruction Professor Marcel provides! Right when i don’t think he’s paying attention he pops up and sais “good job!” or corrects you on what you did wrong! I find Marcel to be a true man of character! He’s very laid back and has his head on his shoulders! He’s mentally and emotionally sound and by far the "VERY BEST" Jiu Jitsu intructor in the area! Everyone that trains there is very welcoming and it felt like joining a family on the very first day there! I’ve been to gyms where I’ve felt welcomed at first only to feel like it was a dysfuntioncal family later! You don’t get that at Fortuna BJJ!

I was really impressed by the ladies that train here as well, not just in Bjj but in Kickboxing also! So if theres any ladies reading this and feel intimidated at the thought of joining, don’t be! If your looking for somewhere to start your Martial Arts Journey, I assure you this is the place!

Professor Marcel really knows his stuff! I recomend this place over any gym in the area! Especially for your kids! Marcel is the type of guy I would want my kid looking up to if i had one! Five out of Five Stars!

I was in town for a week and was looking around for a place to train, contacted Marcel and he invited me in for a class. Got there during kids class and watched him and another instructor doing work with the kids. Kids were enjoying class and looked to be getting some good training in. Shortly after, Midhat walked in and came up and introduced himself, and pointed me in the direction of the bathroom and locker area.  Kids class wrapped up and Marcel came over and introduced himself before class. As others came in, they were all very welcoming and made me feel like id been training here for years, not just dropping in as a stranger from another school. We warmed up, did some leg drags and back takes, finished up with some pass protect sweep, and then open mats. I got to roll with 3-4 ppl including professor Marcel, and I had a great time. So glad I joined this gym. I came from 9Round in January, and was looking for a gym that taught technique while still getting a great workout in. I have grown so much in the short time I've been here, Marcel is be best coach!!!

This place is great! Been coming since he opened. A lot of personal and tailored instruction. The kids love the BJJ, total transformation in them (but really the adults can't get enough of it, lol). I do the kickboxing and let me tell you there is no better way to meet some great people and work your entire body while feeling like a badass! Can’t say enough about Fortuna BJJ or Marcel!! Marcel has been my 1 on 1 Professor/Instructor for over 3 years now. It was a no-brainer to follow him when he opened his new gym a little over a year ago, because he’s absolutely the best at what he does! I gladly drive 40 minutes one way to be trained 2-3 times per week by Marcel. The atmosphere at Fortuna BJJ is extremely welcoming, fun, and can be competitive if that’s what you choose. This place rocks. We moved in from out of state and I was nervous looking around at other gyms. Fortuna BJJ was the third gym I tried, and it was an immediate fit. I've been training at Fortuna BJJ for about a month now. I love the classes and the people that I see daily. Marcel is a great teacher with focus on techniques and application. I do both BJJ and Kickboxing. Also forgot to mention I drive 40 mins one way to train here. Yes there are closer gyms, but I value his patience, teaching, and approach to each of his students. Well worth trying!
